Wow The Sword Of Kings

In many fantasy novels, there has been a mystical, magical sword carried by the worthy hero. Keeping with this mighty tradition comes Museum Replicas’ Windsong – the Sword of Kings. This powerful blade, made by Windlass Steelcrafts, is a high carbon steel beauty! The long blade has a wide fuller traveling almost its full length.

I've been replaying Earthbound with Ketkat since she's never played it before and we've been having a hoot. But after about 15 hours of playing we've come to the lovely point in the game where if you want to get Poo's only usable weapon in the entire game you've gotta grind one specific enemy that only exists on one specific screen, and disappears forever after you beat the boss of the dungeon.
We've been at it for about 2 1/2 hours and I'm pretty much ready to break. It isn't even the worst drop rate in a video game by a looooong margin, at a 1/125 chance, but there's just something about this one that gets under my skin. It might be the way all the funky graphics in Earthbound slowly wear into you , or how wild it is that the item is attainable for such a short period of the game. I dunno.
Anyway, what item in what game takes the cake as the most obnoxious drop?
Arms Warrior Artifact Weapon
1/1 (Optional) Take the portal to Dalaran crater
0/1 Go to the Tomb of Tyr in Tirisfal Glades
I was in Dalaran, I figured, what the hell, I'll take the portal. I heard the Goblin in Dalaran saying that you'd fall to the surface from a high place, but I didn't actually think that it would plummet me to the ground and knock me to within an inch of my life.
Since it'd ported me to a continent I hadn't been to in a while, I guess things were taking longer to load? I couldn't see my character model? My health was 1%? Moments later it dawned on me that the reason why everything was taking so long to load was because there was a crowd of players from the opposing faction standing around one-shotting the people who were near death as a result of landing in the crater.
I can only fathom that the idiotic decision of actually putting this into the game the way they did, is because they knew someone would be getting a chuckle out of it. Cheers - Well done, Blizzard.. how unbelievably annoying and avoidable that was.
Yeah, that first step is a hell of a doozy. Makes me wonder why they put the portal in midair. Thankfully, I play on a server where that's not much of an issue and I always hotkey my goblin gliders (and mash the hell out of that button as soon as I click through the portal, just in case).
I feel for players on PvP servers who are doing the artifact quests that send us through the Dalaran Crater portal, though, especially high-pop servers where a bunch of flagged players can throttle how fast a zone loads up and makes shards.
So what you are saying is that 'PvP happened on a PvP server'? Seems to be working as intended.
The goblin right next to the portal warned you that there was a drop. She also sells gliders.
It says optional to take the portal.
Probably for a good reason.
Well done, Blizzard.. how unbelievably annoying and avoidable that was.

If you listened to the goblin by the portal, you could have purchased a glider from her and not had the problem that you did. So, you're right. It is avoidable.

So..... you intentionally ignored the 'skull and cross-bones' sign right by her, AND her message?
Haha!
Kings
If only there was a warning. Like a sign, near the portal. Maybe even a npc that warned you and sold gliders.
So you all but went out of your way to die and then complained that you died? Ok.
I just want to congratulate the enterprising Horde loitering around slaughtering the stupid. +1.

I had gliders already. I always carry them. By the time the screen finished loading I was on the surface being shot at by players from the opposing faction. Clearly players are just running at the portal and clicking it in a hurry without reading, which is probably why it's become a popular camping spot now; many players taking fall damage are clumping up in one spot, and that's made for a lovely shooting gallery.
Heroic Leap will save you 10g.

Wow The Sword Of Kings Movie

Annoying, yes.
Unavoidable? No.
If you're Horde, you could have teleported to Undercity and flew from there.
If you're Alliance, you could have teleported to Ironforge and flew from there.
