She's EASILY the best character I have. I do protect her w/ a 6/80/9 health modded Royal Guard. Her arrow attack mod, while only rank 2, gives her a 19 point speed boost. I get speed boosts from four of the other 5 mods, with the 5th (square) giving a big offense, decent protection boost. Dec 15, 2017 - Jedi Training Rey! A Mod For A Day…

Best Mods For Rey

“gem?” I turned, not recognising the man behind the voice I said a slightly curious “…yes”. “Smiler” he said with a grin, “nice to meet you, I’m a friend of Wolfy’s”…

I was supposed to be meeting Wolfy (my super cool friend, Mod & rocker friend of The Who), but due to a flat tyre on his scooter, he couldn’t make it and was to meet the ride out in Southend by car. Smiler invited me to join the ride out with him on his vespa. “Do you have a spare helmet for me?” I asked. “Yes, one on my head and one in my pants!” “That’s terrible!” I said. He laughed. I suddenly thought, oh gosh, what has Wolfy got me into here! Well? In all honesty, it turned out to be a day that will stay with me always, and one that I didn’t want to end. Due to Wolfy’s flat tyre, it meant that Smiler was instructed to lead the London ride out, with me on the back! I was snapping away with my camera and then got the signal, we were ready to go. We jumped on the vespa, all the mod’s revving their engines, colours, flags and memorabilia gleaming in the sunshine, it was such a tremendous sight to see. We were off! Passers by stopping in their tracks grabbing their phones to capture the scene, waving and beaming at what they saw. Every mod and scooter unique in style and story. We rode through Oxford Circus, Regent’s Street, Piccadilly Circus, past the Tower of London, and to the motorway. The weather was so warm we didn’t need many layers. The feeling of unity, yet complete freedom being on the road together as a Mod ride out was euphoric. The inner child inside was just screaming out at me saying “Thank You!”. Without a care in the world, just the road, the wind, the sunshine, my new found friends, and some very cool sets of wheels. Smiler and I both clicked on our love of music. He mentioned that he plays the drums. “Anyone in particular that you play for?” I asked while we hooned down the motorway. “Yeah, Lee Thompson from Madness!” He said. Could this day have got anymore rock’n’roll I thought to myself? Love it!

On arrival in Southend we finally caught up with Wolfy. Clad in his gorgeous and iconic denim jacket that is covered in badges, he was pleased to have made it after such an eventful morning. The Mod’s collected their badges to add to their already well decorated parka’s. (Yes, I have a badge now!) Lambretta’s, vespas and other vintage scooters lined the whole of the water front by the beach and looked so impressive. I wandered off to take some photographs like a magpie attracted to sparkly things, and found myself chatting to a lovely gentleman about his bike. He had a straw trilby on with a lovely silk neck scarf tucked into his shirt with a blue jacket on. Very well presented. The bike was a slick racer style one with the chequered flag on it, black, silver, white, loved it. After we had talked for some time he held out his hand and asked me my name. “gem” I said. “Pleased to meet you, Norman Jay”. Well, what a lovely way to meet my “good times” music hero than standing in the sunshine on a Sunday afternoon on a mod ride out in Southend! Legend.

Wolfy and Smiler had some judging to do for the best bikes in various categories. Best Mod went to Darryl Bunker – congratulations! Quite a feat to win that. The details on all the Scooters totally blew me away. Like individual pieces of couture. These are stunning works of art representing an individual or a tale. Their owners a varied mix of highly creative men and women of all ages. A red vespa with a poppy on it spoke a thousand words, in contrast a comical batman vespa!? Liz Green with her husband rocked their parka’s and rode out in London. Kevin the guitarist from Mod band The Gregory Gang whom Smiler also drums for was also with us. “The Pevs”, Stuart and Claire – the couple who managed to sneak a kiss at the traffic light while side by side on their very cool and very distinguished bikes. You both totally rock! Wayne Leno in his Pretty Green t-shirt on his scooter up in Regent’s Park, Richard Cooper from Stevenage. Download game pc lego batman. Jason Nash with a gorgeous Andy Capp themed bike (Daily Mirror). That was a sight to see.

Once the judging was complete, the sun getting a little more golden, we put our lids on, said farewell to Wolfy, jumped back on our bikes, and my new found squad of “Mad Mods & Englishmen” got back on the road. Our fleet feeling stronger than ever heading home in the evening sun. Leaving the sea air behind us with a quick pit stop for fuel, we zoomed to Enfield. The air now smelling so full of Summer, the countryside lush and so very English, Smiler & his Vespa px 200 (he customised to his own design) were total champions. With a last drink at the local pub – clad in mod music memorabilia I had that realisation that this was my cue to leave. No matter how much you want a day to continue forward, it must come to an end as time always wins – every time. My mind over flowing with all the things I’d seen and my soul sparked with a way of life that just totally clicked with every bit of me, I said my goodbyes. On the train journey back to London I started to design how my Vespa is going to look. Perhaps with a little Runars Couture….

Smiler and Wolfy, thank you. I loved it. Every. Single. Second.

x gem

A little bit of scope on the vespa I went on…Vespa px 200. Smiler moded it up by putting chrome panels, a mud guard and a tool box on it. It has a sports exhaust and custom seat with chrome grab rail. I must say…that seat was very comfortable! Would I go on a ride out again? Just try and stop me!
